Magnetic and silica beads offer an efficient, high-throughput, and reliable alternative to column-based approaches for DNA and RNA isolation and protein purification.

Sera-Mag™ magnetic beads have a cauliflower-shaped surface and proprietary chemistry maximize sample retention or minimize the required beads. They are available in a range of chemistries including:
  • Carboxyl: isolation, selection, and clean-up of nucleic acids
  • Streptavidin: enrichment and targeted sequencing
  • Streptavidin-blocked: low background for sensitive applications
  • Oligo (dT): selective purification of mRNA from total RNA
  • NeutrAvidin: lowest nonspecific binding of all biotin-binding molecules
  • Amine-blocked: low nonspecific binding of proteins from the sample matrix
  • Protein A/G: IgA and IgG protein isolation with high precision

Mag Sepharose™ magnetic beads have large surface areas that provide an ideal solution to capture larger biomolecules in protein purification applications such as affinity purification or capture and immunoprecipitation. They are well-suited to high-capacity, small-scale purification of proteins and are available in a range of chemistries including:
  • Streptavidin Mag Sepharose: enrichment of target proteins utilizing the strong interaction between biotin and streptavidin ligands.
  • Protein A Mag Sepharose: enrichment of target proteins using native protein A as ligan
  • Protein A Mag Sepharose Xtra: small-scale purification and screening of antibodies using native protein A as the ligand
  • Protein G Mag Sepharose: enrichment of target proteins by immunoprecipitation or pull-down applications
  • Protein G Mag Sepharose Xtra: small-scale purification and screening of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies from serum and cell supernatants

SeraSil™ Mag beads are silica-coated superparamagnetic beads for nucleic acid isolation. They deliver a high-purity extraction solution for highly sensitive applications where the sample is scarce. They are available in two sizes, submicroscale diameter 700 nm and 400 nm, offering choice based on surface requirements. The beads have high binding capacity due to their small sizes.
