We’re excited to share that the next generation of UNICORN™ control software (v8) is coming soon, with improvements and new features to make it easier for you to do what you need to do.

What’s changing?
  • GxP package: An enhanced yet easier GxP experience for systems used in regulated environments.
  • Future-ready: Version 8 is optimized for current and future downstream hardware platforms from Cytiva.
  • Enhanced automation support: A new module type package (MTP) capability will support seamless connection to your preferred automation platform. In addition, version 8 will have readiness built in for future data-handling capabilities for automated data flows within your enterprise systems.
  • Improved IT support: Support for multi-client capability will minimize downtime during IT upgrades when deployed through a virtual environment. An updated license manager will make it simpler to manage and deploy e-licenses to your site.

  • No, v8 is the next release of UNICORN™ software.
What technological updates are included in UNICORN™ software v8?
  • .NET 10 will be supported, as requested by some of our customers.
Will the legacy systems be supported in UNICORN™ software v8?
  • All the systems supported in UNICORN™ software v7.13 will be supported in UNICORN™ software v8.
What is module type package (MTP)?
  • MTP is a new automation standard for connecting systems to an automation platform, typically to a process orchestration layer.
When will we have more information?
  • More details will be shared in the second half of 2026.
